Twenty year old soprano Anna Voshege wins the 2013 Opera Scholar of the Year.  After 3 years in the Opera Scholars Australia Program, Anna has been awarded the $5000 cash prize to assist her in her career path.

The three finalists, including soprano Jessica Boyd and soprano Rebecca Gulinello performed with distinction on Saturday evening at Opera in the
Alps and were very excited to be performing with an orchestra.
The audience also enjoyed the opportunity to cast their vote for Scholar of the Year at Opera in the Alps for the first time. The result also confirmed the judging panel’s choice for Opera Scholar of the Year. The Judges consisted of the Directors of the Opera Scholars Australia Program - Graeme and Margot Wall, Ms Yvonne Kenny AM, Patti Graetz, Mr David Ashton Smith and conductor- Guy Noble.

Opera Scholars Australia was born in the North East of Victoria in 1998 when the first group of 8 scholars performed with the main choir at the Mt Buffalo Chalet where Opera in the Alps began.
Anna will go on to perform at Opera in the Market on Monday February 25th and Opera in the Caves in South Australia in April.
